Grape fruit snack

Vitamin A, Vitamin C and fiber received from fruits as nutrients are good for dogs. Giving grape fruit to your dog is a safe option as a snack. Having said that it is seen mostly dogs do not like the taste of grapefruit and thus do not enjoy it much. Some dogs on the other hand are known to jump at the sight of just the owner picking it from a bowl. The run towards the owner so that they share the grapefruit with them.

Grapefruit is an acidic fruit in nature and high on citrus content. This is what makes it not so tasty for some dogs to eat and enjoy.  Like any other people food being given to dogs one should take it carefully and slowly with grape fruit too. Being a citrus fruit it is possible that too much of grape fruit for your dog can lead to a digestive distress and a runny stomach. Thus giving a few grape fruits is okay but giving in them in bulk will cause problems.

Grapefruits are like oranges and contain ample amount of sugar in its natural forms. Therefore feeding grape fruit to your dog on a daily basis is not a good idea. Grape fruit is, however, a very good source of potassium and fiber for your dog. It is also a non toxic food for dogs which makes it a good choice as a snack for your dog. However the moderation rule should not be avoided and followed at all times.
